Javed recently opened up about his financial woes in an interview.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country last year, it resulted in loss of jobs and a major financial crisis for the people. People from all walks of life are bearing the brunt of the lockdown, which has been implemented twice in the last one year. Several film and television actors in the past have spoken openly about their financial struggles and how they were affected by the pandemic. Actor Javed Haider is also facing shortage of money during this period.
In a recent interview, Javed opened up about his crisis. He revealed that due to his financial constraints he was unable to pay the school fees of his daughter who studies in class VIII and as a result she was dropped from the online classes. He said that earlier, the school had waived off fees for three months, but still, they had to pay at least Rs 2,500 every month. Recently, when he could not even pay this amount, his daughter was thrown out of class. He then went to speak to the administrator at his school where he was told that the school could no longer cooperate.
The actor somehow managed to arrange money to pay the fees and only after paying it was his daughter allowed to attend classes.
Javed further said that it is shameful for people like him to ask for money from others, especially those associated with the industry. He feels that once someone asks for money, people start ignoring that person. People in the entertainment industry do not like to give work to someone who has to borrow money. Therefore, in such a situation, he has to depend only on friends who do not belong to the industry or mortgage his wife’s jewelry and his house.
Javed started his career as a child artist in 1973 with Yaadon Ki Baaraat. He has been a part of many films till now.
