Mumbai Police has registered another FIR based on a complaint by a female actor, who has alleged that she was forced to shoot porn for the Hotshots app. An FIR was registered at Malwani police station against three producers of Raj Kundra’s company and actress Gehana Vashisht, who is out on bail in the pornographic case registered against Kundra.
The fresh case will now be transferred to the property cell for investigation. Kundra was arrested on July 19 for allegedly creating and publishing porn on certain mobile apps, including Hotshots.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Crime Branch informed a magisterial court on Tuesday that they have received details of revenue and payments for the controversial Hotshots app from mobile and MacBook chats between Kundra and his business partner Ryan Thorpe. Police said Kundra earned at least Rs 1.17 crore from his business of producing and distributing porn films online between August and December last year.
The police had claimed during an earlier remand hearing that Kundra had plans to sell 119 adult films to a person for $1.2 million.
The Bombay High Court on Tuesday refused to grant immediate relief to Kundra. Justice AS Gadkari directed the police to file a reply by July 29 in response to a petition challenging the arrest of Kundra. His lawyers argued that the police had failed to follow the procedure. Advocates Ponda and Jadhav submitted that they should have earlier issued a notice to him asking him to appear to record a statement instead of directly arresting him.
