Actor-director Radhakrishnan Parthiban has revealed that he has penned the lyrics for a song in his next project, Irawin Nijal. Oscar winner AR Rahman is the music director of the film. Riding on the success of the previous award winning film Othatha Seruppu Size 7, Parthiban is now directing Irwin Nijal. He had earlier told that AR Rahman has composed three great songs for the film.
Parthiban’s last film Oath Seruppu Size 7 was awarded the National Film Award – Special Jury. Known for directing critically acclaimed films, Pathiban has now shown his newfound talent as a lyricist with his next film, Irawin Nijal, which will reportedly feature a single-shot.
In a tweet, Parthiban has said that AR Rahman had sent a tune in his voice for Irwin Nijal’s background music. The composer had asked the director to write a song for it. The director said that the moment he heard it, he was in “high spirits”.

“A week was spent trying to come down and write that abstract tune, and do the recording. Like conch mein dabi ganga, the whole film’s enthusiasm in one song. I flap my wings in ecstasy,” he said.
Earlier in 2001, AR Rahman and Parthiban had collaborated in a musical film Yellowlo. The project could not be implemented due to various reasons. Now they have come together after 20 years to work on a project.
