The Marathi TV industry has been in the middle of a controversy after actor Kiran Mane alleged that she was dropped from Star Pravah’s show Mulgi Zali Ho because of her social media posts criticizing the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, the makers claimed that Mane was fired due to his inappropriate treatment of female actors.
Though the controversy is not over yet, the social media post of another actor of the Star Pravah show has become a topic of discussion due to its political links. Actor Ashwini Mahangade, who performs Aai Kuthe Kar Karte, on Wednesday shared a picture with Rohit Patil, son of late Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader RR Patil, congratulating him on his recent victory in the Maharashtra panchayat elections.
In the post, Ashwini wrote that Rohit has set an example for the youth by winning the election against all odds. Congratulating the 23-year-old leader, Ashwini shared her best wishes for his bright political journey. Actor Rohit and his mother Suman Patil are seen in the picture shared by Ashwini.
In the Kawthe-Mahankal nagar panchayat elections, the Rohit-led NCP panel won 10 of the 17 seats. Shetkari Vikas Panel had won six seats
Ashwini is known for her active role in social work. The actor is the president of Raitech Swarajya Pratishthan which works to create awareness about women’s issues like menstrual hygiene and others. Ashwini’s organization also works to make women aware of the laws to prevent domestic violence.
Ashwini, a resident of Pasarni village of Y city of Maharashtra, has been working in Marathi films and serials for a long time. The actor rose to fame with his portrayal of a teacher in the Marathi film, Boyz, released in 2017. Ashwini played the role of Anagha Abhishek Deshmukh in the serial Ae Kuthe Ke Karte.
