Actor Anasuya Bharadwaj questions Telangana government over reopening of schools

Telugu television presenter and actor Anasuya Bharadwaj has questioned the Telangana government’s decision to take offline classes in schools across the state. For the academic year 2021-22, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) reopened schools in September.

The government has asked the school authorities to follow the COVID guidelines while carrying out daily activities in the schools. Students have been asked to give consent form signed by their parents to attend offline classes. There is still the option of online classes.

Anasuya on Friday asked Telangana minister KT Rama Rao why schools were forcing parents to send their children for offline classes. The actor said that many students were below the required vaccine age and it was not appropriate for them to conduct offline classes.

Later on Friday, he also tagged Telangana Education Minister Sabita Reddy.

In Telangana, schools reopened on 1 September, but residential schools remain closed. Recently, the Telangana High Court lifted the interim stay on the reopening of residential schools and allowed physical classes in these schools as well. Now, private schools have opened their hostels for outside students so that they can attend physical classes with their peers.

Educational institutions have been asked to ensure that they have to follow the Covid-19 protocols laid down by the authorities, which include wearing of face masks, following social distancing. Even though online classes are on, most of the schools are conducting classes in physical mode only.

Meanwhile, Anasuya Bharadwaj contested and lost in the election of Movie Artists Association as an executive member of Prakash Raj’s panel. Recently there were elections.

Anasuya will soon be seen in an upcoming action entertainer ‘Darja’. The title poster of the film was recently unveiled by former minister Kamineni Srinivas. Directed by Salim Malik, the film is being produced by Shiv Shankar Padapati under the banner of PSN Entertainments.
