Despite the presence of police in Neem Ka Kheda village of Bundi district in Rajasthan, the Dalit groom could not ride on his bride’s mare due to the oppressors. After which instead of the mare, the groom rode on a motor cycle and reached the bride’s house. At the same time, the police say that when they reached the spot, no one told the grooms to sit on the mare.

According to the information, Govardhan, resident of Kishan Ka Jhopra of Bhilwara district, Nandlal of Sardarji’s Kheda and Sitaram from Bundi reached the village last evening to marry three daughters of Ganesh Lal Meghwal, resident of Neem Ka Kheda village. After receiving the procession, when preparations were being made to take the three grooms on horseback to the bride’s house, then some bullies gathered and, citing the old custom, did not lift the Dalit groom on a mare. Said that which created tension.

After consultation with the elders, the groom went on a bike

On getting information about this, the police from Bundi also reached the spot and explained with some elders of the village and in the end it was decided to kill the pylon by taking the bridegrooms to the bride’s door in late night. Accordingly, without the mare, the bridegrooms took out the bindori and they killed the pylons.

No one talked about the mare after the police arrived

In this regard, the police say that after the police reached the village, no one told the grooms to sit on the mare, nor was any mare found on the spot. This is not the first time this has been seen. Even before this many times the bridegrooms of Dalit caste have been forbidden to ride on a mare. The people of the upper caste, citing the old customs, have been stopping the grooms from taking the procession on a mare.
