Drone Vibhram of IIT Kanpur has proved its capability among many countries including America, Israel, Australia, France, China, England. He has got the title in three categories in the online competition organized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the US.
Director Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Professor of Aerospace Engineering. Abhishek and other faculty have congratulated the team. PhD researcher Ramakrishna and MTech student Chirag Jain presented Prof. Vibhram has been prepared under the direction of Abhishek.
It is capable of flying at high speed as well as going to extreme altitudes. Also adept at sudden landings. This drone is of helicopter design. In the competition, the drone had to fly for an hour with a weight of five kilograms.
Students made an hour long video of it and sent it to the competition. Pro. According to Abhishek, the prizes are for the lowest cost, lowest weight and simplest design. It was in the top three in the third leg of the same match in February. This time it was the fourth stage competition.
