‘Achhe din’ for BJP in ABP CVoter survey gives saffron party an edge in 4 states

New Delhi: Five states of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand are going to go to polls early next year, ABP News in association with C-Voter conducted a survey to assess the mood of voters and the projections made by the Bharatiya Janata Party. (BJP) put forward. in four states.

The saffron party is ahead of its political rivals in politically important Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading as the single largest party in Punjab, but is slightly short of the majority mark.

Uttar Pradesh:

According to the ABP-CVoter survey, the BJP-led alliance is likely to get 263 seats in the 403-member Uttar Pradesh assembly with a vote share of 41.8 per cent.

The second-ranked Samajwadi Party is expected to win 113 seats with a vote share of 30.2 per cent.

The survey, however, baffles the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) as the Mayawati-led party is likely to get just 14 seats with a vote share of 15.7 per cent.

BJP’s Yogi Adityanath still remains the most preferred chief ministerial candidate in the Hindi-speaking state, with 40 per cent of the respondents voting in his favour.

Uttarakhand:

The BJP also enjoys a political edge in the hill state of Uttarakhand.

According to the ABP-CVoter survey, the BJP-led alliance is likely to get 44-48 seats in the 70-member Uttarakhand Assembly.

The Congress-led alliance is likely to benefit this time as the survey shows that the oldest party will win 19 to 23 seats.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which will make its electoral debut in the hill state, is expected to win just 0-4 seats, while others will get just 0-2 seats, as per the survey.

Goa:

The BJP remains in the driver’s seat in Goa with the poll projecting 24 seats for the saffron party in the 40-member assembly.

BJP leader and Goa CM Pramod Sawant remains the most preferred CM candidate for the upcoming elections with 33 per cent of the respondents voting in his favour.

AAP is projected to emerge as the major opposition party leaving behind the Congress with 22.2 per cent vote share and winning 6 seats.

Congress is projected to win 15.4 per cent vote share and 5 seats.

Manipur:

The BJP-led alliance is set to win the state with 40.5 per cent vote share and 34 seats.

The Congress alliance is expected to get 20 seats with a vote share of 34.5 per cent.

In the last assembly elections in 2017, the Congress emerged as the single largest party, winning 28 out of 60 seats, falling short of the majority by three seats. The BJP came second with 21 seats, but formed the government with the support of independent candidates, including 11 MLAs from the NPP, NPF and one from the Trinamool Congress.

Punjab:

Punjab is a multi-cornered political arena in which each major party has a role to play. AAP, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Congress – all have an equal share in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.

AAP is projected to become the single largest party in Punjab by winning 55 seats and 35 per cent vote share. The faction-stricken Congress is second and is likely to win 42 seats with 29 per cent vote share, according to the survey.

In a shocking remark, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been projected as the most popular leader in Punjab with 21.6 per cent affirmation. It is worth noting that this is partly due to non-projection of a CM face by AAP.

SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal is the second most popular leader (19 per cent), followed by current CM Amarinder Singh (18 per cent).
