Accident in Sirmaur: Nine killed as vehicle falls into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district. Shimla News – Times of India

Shimla: Wedding rituals turned into mourning Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh On Monday evening, 10 people involved in the procession died after falling off the road and falling into a gorge on the Timbi-Bakras link road under sub-division Shillai on Monday evening. Two people have been injured in the accident.
According to sources, the Bolero camper vehicle carrying the processions fell into a deep gorge on Monday evening. The procession had gone from Chadiau village to Bhatodi village and the accident happened when the vehicle carrying 12 people was going towards Timbi. Hearing the noise, residents of Pashog village reached the spot and started the rescue operation.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, the administration and police team reached the spot. Nine bodies were retrieved from the ditch on the spot while one injured later succumbed to his injuries.
The reasons for the accident are yet to be ascertained. Police is still conducting search operation. It is not yet known how many people were in the vehicle.
Expressing grief over the road accident, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that 10 people are reported to have died while two have been injured. He has directed the Sirmaur district administration to provide all possible help to the families affected in this accident and to provide better health facilities to the injured.
