Abhishek Bachchan excited as 9 inmates of Agra Jail clear board exam, father Amitabh Bachchan wrote ‘Wah ji wah’

Does art imitate life, or does life imitate art? Abhishek Bachchan’s Dasvi will keep us guessing! The film has received massive applause from across the globe, with many praising the inspiring story of a corrupt politician who falls in love with education while in prison and finally makes it to class 10.

This inspiring story seems to have left an indelible mark on certain fans. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film was shot at the Agra Central Jail, along with a screening of the film for the inmates on the premises. Some prisoners took the film’s message to heart, as they too decided to try and embrace the magic of education. No good deed is spared, as 12 of them have now passed the board with flying colors. While 9 of the prisoners passed the 10th class examination, 3 passed the intermediate 12th class examination.

Appreciating his stupendous achievement, lead star Abhishek Bachchan says, “It feels great when you see the positive impact of a film you have been a part of in real life. The credit for this goes to the students and my director Tushar. His belief in the film and the story he wanted to tell. This news is bigger than any award or honor that we could have got as a team.” He also tweeted about the same and wrote, “This is the best news of the day. What a great!!! @TusharJalota more Very proud of the team #Dassavi Congrats to the prisoners.”

Abhishek’s father Amitabh Bachchan reacted to the tweet and wrote, “Wow ji wow.” Check out the tweet here:

Talking about the impact of the film, producer Dinesh Vijan says, “Films can make a difference. I have always believed in supporting good content that can be made into mainstream films. Dasvi was another opportunity for me to do so. And I am really happy and proud that it has managed to touch the lives of people and impact them in a positive way.”

Sharing his happiness on this news, director Tushar Jalota says, “I am really happy to hear such heartwarming news. With Dasvi, we always wanted to make a mainstream, entertaining film where we talked about the importance of education. But the most important thing was that we all had very sincere intentions while making it. When words are spoken from the heart, they enter another heart. The fact that we can manage to inspire and influence so many lives for good has actually made it a very fulfilling experience. ,

With the recent news revealing that 163 prisoners from not only Agra, but also Uttar Pradesh are clearing the board exams, the film has done more than just entertain the audience! Produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films, a fine blend of honest intentions, an important message and a great script, is still working wonders months after its release.
