Abdul Razzaq reveals his ‘unsurpassed’ technique for dismissing Sachin Tendulkar

Former Pakistan cricketer Abdul Razzaq has made a surprising revelation when he recently opened up about his ‘ineligible’ balls which enabled him to dismiss the Indian cricket legend, Sachin TendulkarRazzaq was known for his swings and his talent for tossing the ball from both sides, which often saw batsmen tremble—be it the red ball or the white ball, Razzaq was Pakistan’s leading figure. While many have managed to break Tendulkar’s defence, Razzaq is the only bowler to have dismissed Tendulkar six times in One Day Internationals (ODIs).

The swing of the former Pakistan bowler was opposed. While talking to Geo News, Razzaq revealed that he used to deliver in-swing and reverse swing deliveries to Tendulkar to get his wicket. The former Pakistan cricketer said that the key to his success was his ability to play deliveries that could generate hype and apply the right yorkers.

The cricket clash between India and Pakistan is considered to be the biggest rivalry in the game. It is nothing less than a war, especially when both sides brag to legendary players. Apart from his impeccable bowling techniques, the former Pakistan cricketer was quite a handsome batsman who took Pakistan out of trouble by scoring runs down the order. Razzaq has played a total of 265 ODIs for Pakistan in which he has scored 5080 runs which includes three centuries. In the same number of matches in ODI cricket, the swinger has taken 269 wickets with the best figures of 6/35.

There are also three fifers named after Razzaq. Apart from being able to dismiss Tendulkar, the bowler will also be remembered for the time when he dropped Tendulkar’s catch in the 2003 World Cup. Razzaq dropped Tendulkar’s shot while playing off Wasim Akram’s ball. At that point, an angry Akram asked Razzaq if he had any clue ‘whose catch he dropped’. The Master Blaster played a winning innings of 98 runs and helped India win the match.

In his illustrious career from 1996 to 2013, Razzaq played 46 Tests, 265 ODIs and 32 T20Is for Pakistan. Known as ‘Popeye’ for his love for spinach, a nickname given to him by his teammates, Razzaq made his debut for Pakistan in 1996 against Zimbabwe. Looking at his flamboyance, this fast bowler made his Test debut in 1999.
