Saying that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will quit politics if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducts municipal elections on time and manages to win them, Arvind Kejriwal attacked the saffron party for postponing the elections.

Delhi CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks came after the Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved a bill to unify the three civic bodies – North, East and South – in Delhi.

“we [the AAP] Will leave politics if BJP’s MCD elections are held [timely] And wins them,” Arvind Kejriwal told reporters outside the Delhi Assembly.

“BJP says it is the biggest political party in the world, but it was scared of a small party and a small election. I challenge BJP to conduct MCD elections on time.

Kejriwal also took to Twitter and said that postponing the elections is an “insult to the martyrs”.

“The postponement of Delhi Municipal Corporation elections by the BJP is an insult to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to establish democracy in the country by driving the British out of the country. Today they are postponing the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections due to fear of defeat, tomorrow they will postpone the state and country elections, tweeted Kejriwal.
