Aamir Khan says he quit films and acting during lockdown, ‘Kiran cried hearing my verdict’

From rejecting the label of ‘Mr’, the actor spoke on a host of other topics. The ‘Perfectionist’ opened up about his relationship with his ex-wives Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta in a conversation with journalist and ABP anchor Sumit Awasthi at the ABP Ideas of India Summit in Mumbai on Saturday.

“In the last two years of the pandemic, a lot of us have lost someone, everyone has their own personal stories,” Awasthi said at the start of the conversation. A lot of the time at home, we would like to know what you did during this period.”

Replying to the question, the actor said that the last two years have been difficult for all of us. He also shared that the pandemic has given him the opportunity to spend time with his family and children, and about parenting responsibilities.

The ‘Dangal’ actor sent almost the entire audience into a state of shock when he revealed that he had indeed quit films and acting during the lockdown.

He said, “I told my family that I will not do any film from now on. I will neither act nor produce any film. Now, I just want to spend my time with you all. My family was in shock.”

Talking further about his decision, the actor said that at that time he felt it was better not to tell the news to the world because if he had, people might have misunderstood it as a marketing plan. He also said that he makes films after three-four years anyway, so once his upcoming film releases, people will think that he will be gone again for a year or two now. Till then he will leave the industry and no one will know.

He said, “After three months, my kids convinced me that my decision was an extreme act. They told me, I need to find a balance in my life, and spend time with them as well as my movies.” have to do.”

The actor also said that his ex-wife and director Kiran Rao also cried after hearing the actor’s decision and said, “When I look at you, I see the movies living inside you. I can’t understand why you are.” What are you saying?”
