Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, actor Aamir Khan, film director Rajkumar Hirani and other dignitaries attended the launch of New Film Policy of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, actor Aamir Khan, film director Rajkumar Hirani and other dignitaries attended the Union Territories’ New Film Policy launch event in Srinagar.

On Saturday, Aamir Khan met Manoj Sinha and discussed about making the Union Territory a “favourite” film shooting destination. Khan met the Lieutenant Governor (LG) at the Raj Bhavan.

The LG tweeted, “Meeted famous film actors Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao today. We discussed the new film policy of J&K, which will be released soon. The discussion is about reviving the glory of J&K in Bollywood and making it a reality. The focus was also on creating a favorite film shooting destination.”

The actor also visited Amar Singh College on Thursday to conduct recce for the shooting of his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha. Khan recently completed shooting in Ladakh.

An official spokesperson said the policy would help filmmakers scout for locations, local talent and facilities, besides obtaining necessary clearances.

Policy emphasizes on tapping local talent

“The policy lays emphasis on harnessing local talent in the field of film production in Jammu and Kashmir and creating employment opportunities for the youth,” the spokesperson said.

For this, a complete database of local talent available for hosting on one website is being created to enable filmmakers shooting their films in the Union Territory to utilize their services, he said, Ask the local talent to fill their details first. 10 July.

“Since every film production is a meeting place for creative artists in the fields of dance, film fashion, acting, choreography and advertising, it will open new avenues of employment for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said that there is also a need for people skilled in cinematic tools like camera, editing, sound recording, set designing and lighting.
