Mumbai: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan announced his separation from his wife Kiran Rao in a joint statement. The couple revealed in their statement that they will be co-parenting son Azad Khan.
The statement read, “In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared the experiences, joy and laughter of a lifetime, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect and love. The ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ actor married Kiran Rao in the year 2005. The two met on the sets of ‘Lagaan’, where Kiran was working as an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowariker. They welcomed their son Azad Rao Khan through surrogacy on December 5, 2011.
Before marrying Kiran, Aamir was already married to Reena Dutta. The couple married in the year 1986 and got divorced in the year 2002. The couple has two children – Junaid and Ira Khan.
Meanwhile, speaking on the professional front, Aamir Khan will be next seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan.
