Earlier this week, Aamir Ali released a video statement and clarified that he and Shamita Shetty are just ‘very close friends’.
Aamir Ali arrived for the screening of Shamita Shetty’s upcoming film ‘The Tenant’ on Friday night. Aamir was wearing a black T-shirt with trousers of the same colour. He layered it with a brown jacket and looked absolutely ravishing. In one of the pictures that surfaced online, the actor was seen sharing a friendly hug with Shamita.
Interestingly, this comes days after Aamir Ali quashed rumors of him and Shamita Shetty dating. They issued a video statement clarifying that the two are only ‘very very close friends’.
“Hi, don’t know what to say. My mom always taught me to be a gentleman. If someone comes over, I usually walk them to the door… whoever it is. A friend of mine was there and I took him to his car. I was just friends but it turned into something else. Friends, we are single. I am single, he is single. We are very close friends and that’s about it,” said Aamir.
Before Aamir, Shamita had also slammed netizens for associating herself with the Ek Hasina Thi actor. Clarifying that she is ‘unmarried and happy’, Shamita urged netizens to ‘open their minds’. “I am in awe of society and its convenient rational mindset. Why is every action and every person subject to scrutiny or quick judgment without any reality check? There are possibilities beyond the narrow mindedness of NETIZENS,” Shamita wrote in a tweet. “It’s high time we open our minds to this! Single and happy..let’s focus on more important issues in this country!” said the actress.
Rumors of Shamita Shetty dating Aamir Ali made headlines after a video went viral on social media, in which Ali was seen kissing Bigg Boss OTT fame Shamita Shetty on the cheek.
Shamita Shetty was earlier dating Rakesh Bapat. The two fell in love during their Bigg Boss OTT run but parted ways in July last year. On the other hand, Aamir Ali was earlier married to Sanjeeda Sheikh. However, the two separated in January 2021 i.e. after nine years of marriage.
