Ahead of the KKR vs RCB clash at Eden Gardens, Virat Kohli and Rinku Singh were involved in a fun banter as the latter informed hhis senior about breaking his bat.

Indian batters Virat Kohli and Rinku engaged in a funny banter ahead of the clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens on Sunday noon. It’s going to be a crucial match for RCB who are desperate to get back to winning ways after 5 consecutive defeats. They are reeling at the bottom of the points table with just 1 win in 7 matches. On the other hand, the Knight Riders will be keen to regain their second spot on the tally after being displaced by the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.

Ahead of the all-important clash, the two star batters were involved in a chat where Rinku was seen checking out Kohli’s bats. The latter then came to know that the youngster had broken a bat given by him, to a spinner. Kohli then inquired if Rinku was asking for a second bat. Before the KKR player could answer, the RCB star said if he gave 2 bats in 2 matches, he would be in trouble later in the tournament.

Kohli had already gifted Rinku a bat when their teams clashed at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru last month. The last time when the two teams met, KKR had beaten RCB by 7 wickets. After the game,  Rinku had an opportunity to visit the RCB dressing room and catch up with Kohli and even received a bat from the maestro.

RCB will hope that they can turn their fortunes around against the Knights in Purple and Gold with the visitors set to don the green jersey for the afternoon fixture. The Faf du Plessis-led side RCB have been dismal throughout the season so far. Their batters have scored runs but not enough to win games and their bowlers have taken wickets but leaked more runs.

KKR and RCB have faced off in 33 matches so far. KKR have won 19 times and RCB have come out victorious on 14 occasions.
