In preparation for Republic Day, the Center announced that the eternal flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti will be extinguished after 50 years on Friday and merged with the flame at the adjacent National War Memorial (NWM). Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that some people do not understand patriotism and sacrifice and Congress will burn Amar Jawan Jyoti.
