A Pakistani infiltrator was gunned down by BSF jawans at the International Border in Jammu

Jammu: A Pakistani infiltrator was gunned down by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on the International Border in Jammu district on Monday, official sources said. Security forces claimed that around 12.10 pm on alert BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement across the fence in the general area of BOP Bakarpur. An official said, “Our dominant party saw a man coming towards the fence at night with the intention of aggressively crossing the fence from Pakistan side. Our party challenged him to stop but he paid attention to it. Left with no option, our soldiers fired three rounds at the intruder causing him to fall immediately before the fence.”

Early in the morning our search team checked the area and found the body of a Pakistani infiltrator very close to the fence. Nothing was recovered from him. Additional disposal officer said the body was being handed over to the police.

This year more than half a dozen Pakistani infiltrators were shot at different places on the IB fence in Jammu.

A police officer said that it could also be a bovine smuggler as both Indian and Pakistani bovine smugglers have nexus in Jammu IB. He also said that we cannot rule out that he could be a terrorist who wants to cross this side, because arms and ammunition are now infiltrating through drones and those terrorists are without weapons. Come and get the weapons here later. He said that we have registered the case and further investigation will clear things.
