The counting of votes for the Tripura Assembly elections has started from today. For the Tripura Assembly, which has a total of 60 seats, there are 21 counting places. A total of 14 assembly constituencies will be counted in Umakant Academy, located in the heart of Agartala city. The fate of Chief Minister Manik Saha will be decided in this census center. Also, the most popular assembly constituency Agartala assembly will be counted here. At Sonamura High Girls School, the fate of Union Minister of State and BJP candidate from Dhanpur Assembly constituency Pratima Bhowmik will be decided. This counting center will count the votes of a total of four assembly districts.
Altogether there are a little over 28 lakh voters. A total of 259 applicants will be selected out of which 22 are women. There were a total of 3337 polling stations, out of which 1128 were sensitive. Voter turnout in this race was approximately 87%. 4% less than the recent assembly elections. In this area, there are three candidates running for office. The ruling BJP and its ally, the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) are on one side, and the Left-Congress alliance, Tipparamotha, is on the other. There is fighting spirit in Trinamool Congress.

Here’s how the top contenders are performing:
- BJP’s Sushant Deb defeated Pratima Majumdar of CPM to capture the Vishalgarh constituency.
- Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma is more than a thousand votes behind TIPRA Motha candidate Subodh Debbarma in Charilam constituency.
- After the last round of polling, CPM candidate Nayan Sarkar defeated BJP’s sitting MLA Krishnadhan Das in North Agartala’s Bamutia constituency with a majority of 1854 votes. Das got 17,665 votes against Sarkar’s 19,519 votes.
- In Pabiacherra, Labor Minister Bhagwan Das is trailing Congress candidate Satyaban Das by over 1,400 votes at the end of the second round.
- Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has won Bordovali Town.
- Ratan Lal Nath (BJP) wins Mohanpur constituency.
- Congressman Sudip Roy Barman is leading from Agartala.
- BJP’s Surjeet Dutta is leading in Ramnagar seat. Purushottam Rai Barman, an independent candidate from Ramnagar constituency, is at the last position.
The current session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly will end on March 22. Therefore, the administration of the state should be completely established before that. According to exit polls, the BJP and its allies are likely to retain control of Tripura. According to exit polls, the BJP and its ally IPFT are projected to win around 32 of the state’s 60 seats, or slightly more than the majority mark of 31. Of the 60 seats, the 25-year rule of the CPM-led Left Front came to an end as the BJP gained 35 seats on its own. The Congress, the principal opposition party in the state, had failed to win a single seat since the 1970s.
