Panaji: The death toll from COVID-19 in Goa rose to 3,483 on Thursday as 94 deaths reported between August 2020 and June 2021 were added. Not reporting these numbers on time by hospitals resulted in under-reporting of deaths.
There has been late reporting of Kovid deaths even after warnings to hospitals.
Meanwhile, the state reported 31 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, while 65 were recorded on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s hike raised concerns, but Dr. almidaThe director of health services said they had detected no more cases than the two reported last week.
Last week, 25 defense personnel entered the Navelim camp. South Goa, as well as nine children in state-run children’s homes North Goa were found positive. Almeida said he would have to watch for a few more days to see if the infection was increasing.
