7th Pay Commission DA increased: Uttarakhand government employees will get benefits from September

DA of 7th Pay Commission increased: Uttarakhand on Wednesday announced a 28 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) to state government employees with effect from September.

“Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced to lift the moratorium on payment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to his employees, the enhanced 28% DA will be given from September,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement.

Recently, states including Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar also approved hikes for their employees.

Bihar government increased the DA for its employees and pensioners by 11%. Himachal Pradesh state government employees and pensioners will also get a 6% hike in DA. The Gujarat government will also pay three months’ DA arrears to over nine lakh state employees and pensioners. 464 crore will be spent on the exchequer on this.

On the other hand, DA to government employees and pensioners in J&K will also be increased to 28% from the existing 17%.

Back in July, the government had announced its decision to implement the cabinet’s decision to increase dearness allowance for central government employees to 28% from July 1.
