According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India on Wednesday recorded 7,554 new Covid-19 cases and 223 deaths in the last 24 hours. With 223 deaths in a day, the toll has reached 5,14,246.
According to the Union Health Ministry data, the total number of cases in the country is 42,938,599, while the active cases have come down to below one lakh after 60 days.
With 14,123 patients getting cured in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number has increased to 4,23,38,673. India’s active caseload currently stands at 85,680.
With the administration of 8,55,862 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID vaccination coverage has reached 1,77,79,92,977 as of Wednesday morning.
According to the health ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.96%, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 1.06%.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, to 30 lakh on August 23. It had crossed the one crore mark on 19 December. India crossed the grim milestone of 20 million and 30 million on 4th May. 23 June.
