7,312 test positive for Covid-19 in Kerala Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

T’PURAM: The state witnessed 7,312 positive cases out of 69,680 samples tested in the last 24 hours. New cases have been detected, of which 6,201 people have received vaccinations, 2,904 people have taken both doses, and 1,857 people have not received a single vaccine dose.
The total active cases currently stand at 73,083, of which 7.7% are either admitted in hospitals or other treatment centres.
Meanwhile, 51 Covid deaths were reported, taking the death toll in the state to 32,598. At the same time, 8,484 patients have recovered from the disease.
Of the new cases, 6,813 cases have been infected with local spread. The contact source of infection was not traceable for 415. Thiruvananthapuram reported the highest number of cases with 1,099, followed by Ernakulam (1,025).
Currently, 2,61,090 persons are under observation in various districts, of which 2,56,032 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres, and 5,058 are in isolation in hospitals.
As per the weekly infection population ratio, the WIPR is more than 10% in 115 wards of 77 local bodies.
