65 fresh Covid-19 cases reported in Bengal, night curfew relaxed for Holi celebrations on March 17-18

West Bengal on Wednesday reported 65 new cases of COVID-19, taking the tally to 20,16,581, the health department said in a bulletin.

Two more people died due to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 21,191. The bulletin said that since Tuesday, 137 patients have recovered from the disease and so far 19,94,182 people have been cured of coronavirus in the state.

Now the number of active cases has gone up to 1,208. Meanwhile, the state government on Wednesday announced that the night curfew will be relaxed on March 18 due to the festival of Holi.

Movement of people and vehicles will be allowed between midnight and 5 am.

Restrictions related to movement of people and vehicles were already relaxed for the night of March 17 on the occasion of Holika Dahan. The West Bengal government on Tuesday extended the ongoing restrictions to contain the spread of coronavirus till March 31.
