Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and a four off the last two balls to help Chennai Super Kings beat Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets via the DLS method.

Ravindra Jadeja scored the winning runs for Chennai Super Kings as they defeated Gujarat Titans by 6 wickets to win the IPL 2023 title. Jadeja hit a six off the last two balls against Mohit Sharma and CSK won from the jaws of defeat.

It was an incredible game full of dramatic moments, with CSK skipper MS Dhoni being dismissed for a duck earlier, the game boiling down to the final moments.

The match was reduced to 15 overs after Chennai Super Kings called off play after a rain delay. CSK got the target of 171 runs by DLS method.

Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad helped CSK get off to the right start but they got lost somewhere in the middle of the chase after Noor Ahmed was dismissed in the same over to remove both the openers.

Shivam Dubey then scored an unbeaten 32 off 21 balls to keep CSK in the running. Jadeja meanwhile was the hero for the Yellow Army as he scored the winning runs and powered his side to a dramatic win after a 6-ball 15.

Needing 13 runs in the final over, Mohit Sharma was not out off his first four deliveries before delivering an inch-perfect yorker before smashing Jadeja’s delivery straight down the park.

Next ball, 4 runs were required and Jadeja was given a full toss on the pads which he gently flicked towards short fine for the winning runs.

It was a crucial knock from Jadeja that helped Chennai Super Kings beat Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets. Earlier, Gujarat had posted the highest total in the history of IPL finals as they scored 214/4 but the rain god intervened and CSK were given a revised total of 171.

It was a stellar performance from CSK who looked down and out, especially when Dhoni was dismissed by Jadeja, who came to his rescue.
