62 Sticks Removed From Man’s Stomach | Rajkot News – Times of India

RAJKOT: Over the last two to three years, Arjan Chandpa living in Veraval taluka, had been consuming everything inedible. The 40-year-old, who is not just speech and hearing impaired but also has learning disabilities, had been suffering from unbearable stomach ache for the last one month.
His family members realized only after he communicated about the pain through sign language and took him to the Junagadh Civil Hospital as the pain did not subside. But they had no clue what was accumulated in his stomach.
During the CT scan, doctors found a hole in his stomach and decided to operate on him. When doctors started operating on him, they were shocked as one after another they removed 62 wooden sticks, two mehndi cones and 15 plastic straws from the stomach.
Dr Minesh Singhal, who did the operation, said, “The operation continued for two hours during which they found several inedible things in his stomach like wooden sticks and plastic straws. Doctors believe that these items were deposited in his stomach over the last two to three years.
