The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck Port-aux-Français in French southern and Antarctic land early Saturday.

There were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property.

The NCS said the quake occurred at 1.55 a.m. about 2152 kilometers east of Port-aux-Français, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
