In a special conversation with Bhaskar, Pranav, a priest of the Dwarka temple, told- ‘At the time of the storm, people were being made to migrate from the Muslim-dominated settlement of Rupen Port, then the Muslims here had refused to go anywhere saying that when As long as Dwarkadhish is present here, nothing will happen to us.

Priest Pranab further said- Whether we believe in this religious belief or take the side of science, but there are not one but many such examples in history, when huge calamities befell Dwarka and were averted at the last moment. Actually Dwarkadhish is the mayor of Dwarka. He has always been protecting the residents of Dwarka from sea storms and natural calamities.

The bombing was done targeting the main temple of Dwarkadhishji. In just a span of 15 to 20 minutes, 156 bombs were fired from five frigates (marine warships) of Pakistan called PNS, PNS Shahjahan, PNS Babur, PNS Alamgir, PNS Badr and Tipu Sultan. But all the bombs passed over Dwarka. During this, the sea had risen an inch due to a sudden cyclone, due to which all the targets of the Pakistani Navy were missed.

Disaster averted from Dwarka in the year 1998
At this time like a stormy disaster came in 1998. The Meteorological Department had issued an alert in the coastal areas of Gujarat. This cyclonic storm was to hit Dwarka around 9 June 1998. However, in due course the speed of the storm stopped and increased again. This changed the direction of the storm and while passing near Dwarka, it hit Kandla and Gandhidham port. The residents of Dwarka consider this incident also a miracle of Dwarkadhish.

The worst natural calamity in Gujarat came on the morning of January 26, 2001. An earthquake of 7.7 magnitude occurred in Gujarat’s Saurashtra at 8.46 am. It had killed thousands of people in Kutch and Bhuj. Dwarka also experienced tremors measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale, but there was no damage in Dwarka. The people of Dwarka consider this also as the grace of Dwarkadhish.

Shortly after this the rain had also stopped. Regarding this also, the residents of Dwarka believe that Lord Indra made a mistake. Dwarkadhish again took all the trouble upon himself.

Two flags have been installed on the temple to avoid the trouble of storm
According to tradition, the shikhara of the temple is changed 5 times. After changing one flag on Tuesday, the second flag was also hoisted. Actually, the belief behind hoisting two flags together is that disaster is averted by this. The people here believe that by hoisting two flags together on the summit of Lord Dwarkadhish Jagatmandir, even the biggest trouble can be averted. That’s why earlier also two flags have been hoisted together on the top of the temple. Now till June 17, the devotees will see both the flags on the peak.

In this regard, Kapilbhai Gor, another priest of the temple, said – A stormy disaster is hovering over our heads. Five Dhajs are offered daily at the peak of the Dwarkadhish temple. After the flag hoisting on Monday morning, the next serial flag was hoisted along with the previous flag. Talking about Dwarka, when any problem or problem arises in Dwarka region, two flags are hoisted simultaneously on the top of Jagatmandir. It is an old belief that by hoisting two flags together on the peak, every trouble coming to Dwarka is averted. Even before this, two flags have been hoisted together on the summit of the Jagat temple of Lord Dwarkadhish.
