B. Hara Hara Mahadev, directed by Gopal, was another Balakrishna film that hit the shelves.

Nandamuri Balakrishna has enthralled the audience by playing lead roles in several hit films during an illustrious career spanning over five decades. The actor has also received criticism for not showing any innovation in his choice of films. Balayya, as he is popularly known, has abandoned many films midway after going on floors. Shooting delays, actors not giving their consent to certain characters, etc. were the reasons why these projects could not take off.

Director Jandhyala’s film- Balakrishna wanted to act in a film directed by Jandhyala with the title given by his father NT Rama Rao. The film was also advertised in a newspaper in 1986. G. Subba Rao was roped in to produce the film. However, it did not go ahead as Balakrishna got busy shooting for other films.

Rythu- Balakrishna and Krishna Vamsi Rythu could not go ahead after Amitabh Bachchan did not agree to play the lead role in this film. According to reports, Balaiah went to the sets of Big B’s film Sarkar 3 and narrated the script to him.

Vikrama Simha Bhupathi- Vikrama Simha Bhupathi also became one of Balakrishna’s postponed projects. The film was shelved after 60% shooting was completed. S. Gopal Reddy was associated with the film as a producer. After Gopal’s death, his son Bhargav walked out of the film, calling it a bad omen.

Narthansala- Balakrishna was to make his debut as a filmmaker with this project in 2004. It was supposed to be Balayya’s dream project, but was shelved after actress Soundarya’s untimely death in a plane crash. The mythological film was based on a chapter from the epic Mahabharata. The veteran actor announced on Facebook in 2020 that 17 minutes of the film were available for online streaming.

Har Har Mahadeva – B. Har Har Mahadeva, directed by Gopal, turned out to be another Balakrishna film. The film went on floors on 10 June 2011, but was shelved after some time. Reportedly, during the launch of this film, Balakrishna and producer Bellamkonda Suresh had an argument over the posters of the film. As per reports, the controversy happened because of the badly morphed pictures of Balaiah. Nothing was heard about this film afterwards.
