Patiala: Five people, including a 13-year-old boy, were killed and ten others were injured when an SUV collided with a tractor-trolley on the Devigarh-Patiala road in the early hours of Friday.
Police said that there were about 35 passengers in the trolley who were returning to Patiala after attending a religious program in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
Police said that two people in the SUV also died on the spot.
Further action is being taken after registering a case at Sanaur police station.
The deceased were identified as Rohit (13), Sonu (30), Nikka (30), who were traveling in a tractor trolley. The occupants of the SUV have been identified as Gurpreet Singh (23) and Karamjit Singh (25).
A 13-year-old boy has been referred to PGI-Chandigarh, while the others are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Patiala district, a police official said. Some of the injured were discharged after first aid, while seven are still in the hospital.
