Prayagraj: Five schoolchildren sustained minor injuries when the Magic van ferrying them to school overturned near Veerpur connecting road under the limits of Karchana police station here on Monday morning. All the children, including Deepanjali, Deepu, Raj, Mohit and Aman were given first aid and are out of danger.
The incident, as per police, took place when the Magic driver lost his control over the vehicle while negotiating a narrow connecting lane. As a result, the vehicle turned turtle. Hearing cries of the children, local villagers rushed towards the spot and rescued them.
Upon being alerted, a team of Karchana police, too, rushed to the spot and took the children for medical assistance.
In a similar incident reported from Pratapgarh, five schoolchildren had a narrow escape near Misauli village when the vehicle ferrying them slipped and fell into a ditch. The incident took place under the limits of Dilippur police station of Pratapgarh.
No child was hurt in the incident. The incident, as per locals, took place when the driver could not control the vehicle while giving pass to a SUV coming from the opposite direction. tnn
