Kolkata: Five people have been arrested in connection with the cricket racket operating from the Eden Gardens. IPL Sources said on Thursday that the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) was going on. The arrests were made on Wednesday evening by the Anti-Router Squad (ARS) under the Detective Department (DD) of Kolkata Police.

The five Sunil Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Amar Kumar, Obada Khaleel and Aniket Kumar are residents of Bihar.
It is learned that on the information of their sources, the ARS team in Mufti reached the FI block of the Eden Garden’s visitors gallery late on Wednesday night. Three youths from the block caught his attention as they were busy surfing on their mobile phones instead of watching the match. The ARS caught them and arrested them.
Based on their confession, two more people were arrested on Wednesday evening itself from a private guest house in New Market area of central Kolkata.
Seven mobile phones, a portable router and cash were found to be recovered from them. ARS sources said that the accused used the portable router to ensure smooth internet connectivity within the Eden Gardens premises. The police are integrating them to know about their associates.
