It is raining continuously in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, UP, Punjab and Haryana since a week. Due to bad weather, more than 100 people from different states of the country have lost their lives in the last 4 days.

There have been 36 deaths in Himachal, 34 in UP, 15 in Jammu and Kashmir, 9 in Uttarakhand, 5 in Delhi and one each in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Haryana.

A red alert has been issued for heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh. Flood warning has been issued in Shimla, Sirmaur, Kinnaur. In Kullu, only half of the Sainj market with 30 houses and 40 shops was washed away by the Beas river.

The water level of the Yamuna river has reached 206.76 meters at the Old Railway Bridge in Delhi. It is expected to reach 207 meters. The risk of flood has increased in the capital due to the release of 3.21 lakh cusecs of water from Hathini Kund Barrage in Haryana.

A red alert has been issued for rain in Uttarakhand today. The Gangotri and Yamunotri National Highways are closed at many places due to landslides. 3 to 5 thousand people are stranded here. These include kanwariyas as well. ,
