439 Terrorists Eliminated In J&K After Article 370 Abrogation: MoS Home Nityanand Rai

New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that as many as 439 terrorists have been eliminated in Jammu and Kashmir so far after the abrogation of Article 370.

Rai also informed that 541 terrorism-related incidents have been registered in the Union Territory till January 26, 2022.

“541 terror incidents while 439 terrorists eliminated and 98 civilians who lost their lives and 109 Security Forces (SFs) martyred in Jammu and Kashmir after the repeal of Article 370 post-August 5, 2019 till January 26, 2022,” he said in a Written reply to Rajya Sabha MP Neeraj Dangi, ANI reported.

The Minister of State for Home Affairs further informed that no significant public property has been damaged during these incidents.

“However, damages to private property of Rs. 5.3 crore approximately have been assessed,” Rai said.

The 2022 Budget Session began earlier on January 31 with President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to both the Houses of Parliament.

The first part of the Budget Session, which will continue till February 11, will have 10 sittings.

The second part of the session will begin after a month-long recess from March 14 and conclude on April 8 in which there will be 19 sittings.

With a view to ensure Covid safety protocol, both the Houses of Parliament will function in shifts.

The proceedings in the Rajya Sabha will be held from 10 am to 3 pm and Lok Sabha proceedings from 4 pm to 9 pm

The Zero Hour (the time when the Members of Parliament can raise issues of urgent public importance), which usually runs for one hour, has been reduced to 30 minutes this time in the Rajya Sabha.
