The final threshold of justice for any person is the court. But the government officials are reluctant to implement the orders of the court. There are 42 ministries of the central government on which more than two thousand cases of contempt of court are pending.

All these cases are due to non-filing of reply in time, non-compliance of court orders. Now with the objective of identifying and reforming such ministries, the Central Government has prepared a report from the Law Ministry, so that some necessary steps can be taken to reduce the increasing cases of contempt in courts.

Guidelines will be made on the basis of the report

When does a contempt court case take place?
Advocate Manish Bhadauria says that the government department can appeal against the orders of the court. But if the appeal is not filed within the stipulated time or the order is not implemented, the case of contempt of court orders against the concerned department or ministry.

Now the accountability of the officers will be fixed
The report revealed that in most of the cases there was gross negligence on the part of the officials. The Law Ministry is working on framing guidelines to ensure that this negligence does not happen again in future. The officers will be tasked with fixing the time limit and accountability for filing appeals.
