Doctors are seeing a large number of Kovid cases. “We are seeing patients with cold, cough, body aches and mild fever. Although symptoms disappear in three to five days, the cough persists for at least a week. Upper respiratory infections have been detected in some cases of Omicron. Yet compared with the previous two types, pneumonia in the new variant is quite rare. The elderly need to be careful and take precautionary doses as most of them have comorbidities including diabetes and hypertension,” said Dr Prakash Keswani, senior professor (medicine), SMS Medical College.
