With 447 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours, 35,499 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in India. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, a total of 39,686 discharges took place in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,11,39,457. The active cases of COVID-19 in India now stand at 4,02,188, the data showed. The total death toll in the country now stands at 4,28,309.

According to the Health Ministry data on Monday, a total of 50,86,64,759 people have been vaccinated in the country.

Till Sunday August 08, a total of 48,17,67,232 tests have been conducted in the country, and 13,71,871 samples were tested on Sunday alone.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on 7 August, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September last year.

It had crossed 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and one crore on 19 December last year.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States surpassed 100,000 new confirmed daily infections on Saturday, a milestone surpassed during last winter’s increase and driven by the highly transmissible delta variant and lower vaccination rates in the South. Was.

Health officials fear that cases, hospitalizations and deaths will continue to rise if more Americans do not adopt the vaccine. Nationwide, 50 percent of residents are fully vaccinated and more than 70 percent of adults have received at least one dose.
