- Lakhimpur Violence Updates: After 30 minutes of arguments on the appeal of Public Prosecutor, Lakhimpur violence accused Ashish police custody remand approved

Ashish Mishra ‘Monu’, the main accused of Lakhimpur violence and son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra, will now be on 3-day police remand. On Monday, the CJM court has approved the police remand after 30 minutes of debate during the hearing. Now the SIT will be able to interrogate Ashish more. However, Chief Judicial Magistrate Chintaram has also imposed three conditions.
Earlier, during the hearing in the CJM court, it was said from the police that Ashish was questioned for only 12 hours, in which he did not answer. He needs 14 days police custody. Ashish’s lawyer Awadhesh Singh said that the police want to forcefully take statement from Ashish. Remand is being sought for third degree.

These three conditions must be complied with in custody

- Ashish’s lawyers can stay at a reasonable distance during interrogation during remand.
Case of murder, negligent driving and criminal conspiracy
On October 9, Ashish was arrested after nearly 12 hours of interrogation. A case has been registered against Ashish under sections of murder, accidental death, criminal conspiracy and negligent driving. Statements have been recorded before the magistrate. Ashish had a medical test in the crime branch itself.
