Officials said on Saturday (July 2) that a three-year-old Pakistani child who had inadvertently crossed the International Border (IB) was handed over by the Border Security Force (BSF) to the security personnel of the neighboring country.
On Friday, around 7:15 pm, troops of 182 Bn BSF, Ferozepur Sector apprehended a Pakistani child of about 3 years of age after he crossed the border and entered Indian territory, BSF said.
The said child was unable to reveal anything and was kept in the safe custody of BSF, the statement said. As it was a case of inadvertent crossing, the BSF further contacted the Pak Rangers and at around 9:45 pm said that the Pakistani child was handed over to the Pak Rangers on goodwill and humanitarian grounds.
“BSF always takes a humane approach while dealing with unintentional border crossings,” it read.
