In the FIR, the uncle, Arif Sabir, said that he was at his home in Haroon Bungalows when he received a call from Shah Mir, who asked him to come to the Aga Khan University Hospital immediately at around 2 am on Wednesday.

When they reached the hospital, they found their nephews Jajlan and Shah Mir with bullet wounds in the emergency ward. Jazlan was unconscious and on ventilator but Shah Mir was in a speaking position.

He informed her that he, Jazlan and their friend Zargam were traveling in Zargam’s car and were returning to meet their relative Ibrahim. They were traveling through Jinnah Avenue when they saw a youth driving a motorcycle in a very dangerous manner and missed hitting their car.

When he angrily asked the young man why he was driving his motorcycle in such a dangerous manner, the young man started using abusive language, resulting in an exchange of heated words.

The bike rider immediately called up his brothers. Meanwhile, a motorcycle rider and another car were following them, when the car riders fled from there.

When they reached BTK’s ‘Eiffel Tower’, the suspects in the car overtook another vehicle and opened fire on the victims. As a result, Shah Mir and Jajlan were wounded by bullets, while their friend Zargam suffered no injuries. Jazlan had a head injury.

After the firing, many people reached the spot and the injured were admitted to the nearby hospital BTK, from where the victims were taken to Aga Khan University Hospital where Jazlan died during treatment.

According to Shah Mir, three brothers—Mohammed Ehsan alias Ahsan, Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Hasnain—and Inshal allegedly attacked them and fled the spot.

On Thursday, SSP Mahar told Dawn that the suspects were juveniles and did not think they had a license for the pistol used in the murder. He said investigators were also trying to recover the weapon used in the murder.

The SSP expressed regret that the children of some influential families, who had money or power, used to quarrel over trivial matters, resulting in such tragic incidents. He lamented that recently there has been a fight between youths over bike racing inside Malir Cantonment.

The killing started a Twitter trend on Sunday, garnering thousands of retweets, demanding justice for the slain Jazlan.
