25 thousand corona virus cases registered in India in last 24 hours, lowest in 154 days

Corona Update: In the last 24 hours, 25,166 new cases were reported in India, which is the lowest in 154 days. Active cases come down to 3,69,846, lowest in 146 days; Recovery at 97.51

Kerala

Kerala recorded 12,294 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours, taking the total infection count to 36,81,965, as the number of related deaths rose to 18,743 with 142 deaths in the same period.

A state government release said that 18,542 people have been cured since Sunday, taking the total number of recoveries to 35,10,909, taking the number of active cases to 1,72,239.

In the last 24 hours, 87,578 samples were tested and the positivity rate was found to be 14.03 percent. So far 2,95,45,529 samples have been tested in the state, an official release said.

Some of the worst affected districts in the state are Malappuram (1,693 cases), Kozhikode (1,522 cases), Thrissur (1,394 cases), Ernakulam (1,353 cases), Palakkad (1,344 cases) and Kannur (873 cases).

Maharashtra

Ten more cases of the delta variant variant of the SARS-CoV2 virus were identified across Maharashtra on Monday, taking the total number of cases in the state to 76. Of the 10 new cases, six were identified in Kolhapur, three in Ratnagiri and one in Sindhudurg. The state has so far reported five deaths due to this type.

Of the 76 individuals detected with Delta Plus, 10 were fully vaccinated, while 12 received a single shot of the COVID vaccine. Two individuals had received a dose of Covaxin while the rest had received the CoviShield vaccine shot. While 39 patients are women, nine are children below the age of 18, as reported by PTI.
