2,290 new Covid-19 cases, 68 deaths in Karnataka Bengaluru News – Times of India Times

Bengaluru: Karnataka On Friday, 2,290 new Covid-19 cases and 68 deaths were recorded, taking the total number of infections to 28,67,158 and the toll to 35,731.
A health department bulletin said there were also 3,045 discharges in the day, continuing with the fresh cases continuing to recover 27,93,498 people in the state so far.
Of the 2,290 new cases reported on Friday, 472 were from the district. Bangalore Urban, as the city witnessed 814 discharges and only 12 deaths.
The total number of active cases in the state is 37,906.
While the positivity rate for the day was 1.48 per cent, the mortality rate (CFR) was 2.96 per cent.
Of the 68 deaths reported on Friday, 12 were from Bengaluru Urban, nine in Dakshina Kannada, seven in Mysuru, five each in Davangere and Dharwad, followed by others.
The districts where new cases were reported are 472 in Bengaluru Urban, 228 in Hassan, 216 in Mysuru, 209 in Dakshina Kannada followed by others.
Bengaluru Urban district tops the list of positive cases with a total of 12,18,493, followed by Mysuru at 1,69,304 and Tumakuru at 1,16,079.
In discharges too, Bengaluru Urban topped with 11,89,233, followed by Mysuru at 1,63,744 and Tumakuru at 1,13,575.
Altogether a total of 3,56,30,054 samples have been tested in the state so far, of which 1,53,740 were on Friday alone.
