Despite the COVID pandemic, the students of Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT Patna) 2020-2021 received 223 job offers. The number of placements this year is better than last year’s 202 placements, IIT Patna said in a statement, adding that this season has the highest number of offers.
The number of job offers may increase
IIT Patna said that the internship season is still on, and the number is expected to increase further. An official statement from IIT Patna said that the ongoing placement session saw over 50 new recruits across multiple domains including consulting analytics, e-commerce, IT and software.
Offered to BTech and MTech students highest package
This year the maximum package offered to BTech and MTech students is Rs 54.57 lakh per annum and Rs 52.50 lakh per annum. The IIT statement said that the highest number of placements were done under the Information Technology (IT) sector, followed by the core sector. Jobs were mainly offered in the areas of software engineering, technology consulting, analytics, research and development, graduate engineering trainees, data engineering and associate engineering.
These companies took part in campus placement
Many companies have also converted interns to full-time employees. The institute has seen a 45 per cent increase in internship offers or pre-placement offers (PPOs). As against 57 at the end of last season, 83 BTech students got internship offers on campus, showing an increase of 45 per cent. Recruiters for the internship include DE Shaw, CodeNation, Google India, Comvault, Goldman Sachs, Intel, iRage Capital, NewJera, Samsung Bangalore and Media.net.
