A woman in Delhi booked an Uber cab to travel 21 km in the city, for which she was charged Rs 1,525. The woman complained about the matter to the Uber company. On which the company has asked to refund Rs 900 extra charged to the woman.
According to media reports, the matter is of Thursday. A woman booked an Uber cab from Indira Gandhi International Airport to Chittaranjan Park. The distance between which is 21 km, but when the woman reached her destination, the driver told her that the bill for the ride was Rs 1,525. During this, the woman had an argument with the cab driver, but later the woman paid.
It can be seen in the bill that UP Interstate and MCD tax has been collected twice from the woman.
Uber said that it will refund Rs 900.
The woman’s husband Shubhendu Mukherjee complained about this to the company on Twitter. On this, it was told by the company that due to a glitch in the GPS tracking system, it has been charged extra. Uber said that it would refund Rs 900 to the woman, but the amount would be refunded to the customer’s Uber wallet. Which can be used to book Uber cabs in future.
Uber company says that we checked the bill of the customer’s ride, which included the Uttar Pradesh interstate fee. While the woman had not crossed the state border.
