The students are pursuing their degree course in the college located near Katihalli Industrial Area. A total of 45 students were residing in the PG facility located at KR Puram. Since no vaccine was administered, the health department officials took the initiative and gave him the first dose of Kovishield.
“On Tuesday, RT-PCR test of a student showing symptoms of COVID was conducted. It confirmed the infection and then tests were conducted on the remaining students in PG. Most of the infected people are asymptomatic,” said an official.
The PG has been sealed and the infected and their primary contacts have been moved to a private lodge near the city centre. Tests will be conducted on primary contacts on Friday and Saturday.
“Our team visited all the 10 nursing colleges in the city on Thursday,” said a health department official.
Officials also said that two students of Home Science College in Hassan city also tested positive on Thursday. District health officer Dr KM Satish said, “We are looking to test all students and staff in all colleges.”
