2023 Lamborghini Urus Performante breaks cover: Lighter, more powerful & faster – Times of India

The 2023 Lamborghini Urus Performante has been making headlines for a week now for setting a new Pikes Peak record for production SUVs. The Urus Performante did the fabled hill climb in 10 minutes and 32 seconds with Pirelli test driver Simone Faggioli behind the wheel. The SUV has now been unveiled along with details that are very un-SUV-like and perhaps the reason why it is so quick up that hill. The 2023 Lamborghini Urus Performante is lighter and faster with a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.3 seconds.
The Performante’s weight has been reduced by 47 kg, so it now claims a best-in-class weight-to-power ratio of 3:2. Accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, and braking from 100 km to standstill in 32.9 metres, the Urus Performante produces 666 hp at 6,000 rpm and 850 Nm of torque at 2,300 to 4,500 rpm, and is capable of a top speed of 306 km/h.

Lamborghini say that the aerodynamic efficiency has been improved upon, and overall downforce has increased by 8% on the new Urus Performante. It gets a new differential, delivering a ratio increase from 3.16 to 3.4 in drive conditions and from 3.02 to 3.33 when coasting.
The Urus Performante runs on Pirelli P Zero (sizes 285/40 R22 and 325/35 R22) tyres, along with the Urus Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R, for the first time, which are Pirelli semi-slick tyres developed specifically for this SUV.
The Performante gets new steel springs that lower the chassis by 20 mm, with a wheel track that is broader by 16 mm, over which there are wider carbon fibre wheel arches around the new optional 23” or forged 22” lightweight wheels with titanium bolts.

The Urus Performante has a lowered stance and it gets a prominent front and rear wing, and bumper. This has increased its overall length by 25 mm. The SUV sports a rear spoiler with carbon fibre fins that take design inspiration from the Aventador SVJ.
Inside, the Urus Performante’s cockpit features Nero Cosmus black Alcantara as standard with a new hexagonal seat stitching design. Customers will have the choice to extend the matt black finish to other interior details with the optional “Dark Package”, including the lever of the Urus’ central ‘TAMBURO’, that has controls such as the start/stop button and drive mode selector.
The Urus Performante has been launched in international markets at a price tag that looks like EUR 218,487 (approximately Rs 1.75 crore) in Europe. First customer deliveries will begin by the end of this year.
