2022 MG Gloster launched in India at Rs 31.99 lakh: Check price list, new features, ADAS and more – Times of India

MG Motor India today launched the 2022 Gloster SUV priced at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is available in three different trims – Super, Sharp and Savvy and comes with both six and seven-seater options. MG continues to offer the Gloster in both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain layouts.

Talking about the design, there isn’t substantial change in its exterior. It gets minor tweaks in the front and rear bumper and now the SUV features newly designed British windmill Turbine-themed alloy wheels (only in 4×4 variants). The SUV is now being offered in the newly introduced ‘Deep Golden’ colour option in addition to the pre-existing shades like Agate Red, Metal Ash, Warm White, and Metal Black.

Moving on to the interior, the SUV gets a 31.2 cm touchscreen infotainment system with 12 speaker audio system. The infotainment system now features smart-tech inclusion of more than 75 connected car features, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, First in segment Shortpedia News app and Gaana song search via voice commands. MG has also added 35+ Hinglish commands.

MG motor claims that the vehicle owners can use the app as a remote for audio, air conditioning and ambient lighting in addition to existing i-Smart functions. Earlier, i-Smart was compatible only with Apple Watch users, but with the update, it has been made accessible to Android-based smartwatch users as well.
The SUV now also features a MapmyIndia-sourced navigation system that will now give information about real-time weather and AQI.

Talking about other features, it gets an all-terrain system with 7 modes, a dual panoramic sunroof, 12-way adjustable electric seats, driver massage and ventilation function, wireless charging and many more.
There are no changes in powertrain and gearbox options, the SUV continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged Diesel engine which is available in two states of tune, 160 bhp/375 Nm and 215 bhp/ 480 Nm. Both the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
MG Motor India also announced that it will offer a personalized car ownership program “MY MG SHIELD” with over 180 after-sales service options. Also, customers will be offered a standard 3+3+3 package i.e., a warranty of three years of unlimited kilometres, three years of roadside assistance and three labour-free periodic services.
MG Gloster continues to compete with Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Jeep Meridian and newly launched Mahindra Scorpio-N.
