2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV to be unveiled in India today: Things you need to know

2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N is all set to be introduced in the Indian market today (June 27). The new SUV from the domestic carmaker brings new features, designs and many updates to the consumers in the Indian market. Also, this will be the second SUV after the Mahindra XUV700 to have the company’s new badge on its body. Another thing that needs special mention is that the manufacturers have decided that the new model will be sold under a slightly different name along with the existing model. Talking more about the car, the new Scorpio-N is all set to be launched, but before that the Indian brand has revealed some details of the SUV through teasers, and here’s what we know about the upcoming SUV. :

As expected, the new SUV comes with a completely new design. New elements include a bold front end, a vertical grille featuring the new badge, chrome surround windows and many more. Overall, the new Scorpio-N is built like a big chunky SUV which is a complete upgrade from its previous model.

Mahindra has revealed some details of the Scorpio-N through its teaser; If not, there have been other leaks giving a thing or two about the interior of the SUV. As for the details, the SUV gets a completely new interior with both design and technology. The new variant of the SUV gets a bigger screen, a new badge, new seating configuration for the second and third row seats. Also, it is to get better connected features than the ongoing version.

For true SUV enthusiasts, the ladder-frame construction is still the preferred choice. Scorpio carries on the tradition of old-fashioned charm with a modern yet butch style. According to Mahindra, the new generation avatar moves forward with an all-new ladder-frame chassis. As a result, it is reasonable to speculate that the new Scorpio-N will perform better in the crash test facility.

The upcoming Mahindra Scorpio-N is expected to have two engine options. The package will include a 2.2-litre oil burner and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. A 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be available. A 4×4 drivetrain option will also be available. However, it is possible that it will be available only in the diesel variant.

In terms of pricing, we estimate the entry-level petrol trim to start at around Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom. The price of the top-of-the-line model could go up to Rs 20 lakh ex-showroom.
