“My visa is still pending. My first visa appointment got cancelled, so trying to make ends meet,” she told PTI from Thiruvananthapuram, where she is currently training.

The Tamil Nadu athletes could not breach the automatic qualifying standard of 22.80, but made the cut through the world rankings for the World Championships.

Dhanalakshmi had won the 200m gold with a timing of 23.27s at the National Inter-State Championships in Chennai in mid-June.

The list of Indian participants put up on the World Athletics website also did not feature Arokia Rajeev, a contender for the 4x400m relay team, who withdrew from the second trial held in Patiala on Friday.

Quarter-miler Aishwarya Mishra and long jumper Jesvin Aldrin were on the list but are unlikely to feature in the showpiece event as they did worse in the second trial on Friday than the first on Monday in Thiruvananthapuram.
